Good Voice Names:
Step 3: Define Your Tone
Select the tones that best describe how your brand communicates. You can choose multiple tones.
Tip: Choose 2-3 Tones
While you can select multiple tones, choosing 2-3 primary tones produces the most focused results. Too many can dilute your voice.
Step 4: Describe Your Style
Write a description of how your brand communicates. Be specific about:
- Vocabulary: Formal or casual? Industry jargon or plain language?
- Sentence structure: Short and punchy or flowing and detailed?
- Personality traits: What makes your brand unique?
- Things to avoid: Words, phrases, or approaches you don't want
Example Description:
"We write in a warm, approachable way that makes complex topics feel simple. We avoid corporate jargon and speak to our audience like friends. Our sentences are mostly short and punchy, but we're not afraid of the occasional longer sentence for emphasis. We use contractions (we're, you'll, that's) and occasionally include relevant emoji in social content. We never talk down to our audience or use fear-based marketing."
Step 5: Add Sample Content (Optional but Recommended)
For the best results, paste examples of content that represents your ideal voice. This could be:
- Previous blog posts or articles you've written
- Social media posts that performed well
- Email newsletters your audience loved
- Website copy that perfectly captures your brand
Best Practice
Provide 3-5 diverse examples of content you love. This gives the AI a fuller picture of your voice across different contexts.
Step 6: Review and Save
- Review all your settings
- Click "Save Brand Voice"
- Your voice is now ready to use when generating content
Testing Your Brand Voice
After creating your Brand Voice, test it by generating a Creative Kit:
- Go to Templates and select any template
- Make sure your Brand Voice is selected in the options
- Generate the kit and review the output
- If needed, go back and refine your Brand Voice settings
Iteration is Key
Don't expect perfection on the first try. Fine-tune your Brand Voice over time based on the results you see. Small adjustments can make a big difference.
