Two-Factor Authentication
Add an Extra Layer of Protection
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second verification step when you sign in, making your account significantly more secure. Even if someone obtains your password, they can't access your account without the second factor.
How 2FA Works
- You enter your email and password as usual
- We send a verification code to your authenticator app
- You enter the code to complete sign-in
Why Use 2FA?
Password breaches happen. 2FA ensures that even if your password is compromised, attackers still can't access your account. It's one of the most effective security measures you can enable.
Setting Up 2FA
Step 1: Get an Authenticator App
First, install an authenticator app on your phone if you don't have one:
Recommended Apps
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
- 1Password
Where to Get Them
- iOS: App Store
- Android: Google Play Store
All recommended apps are free to download and use.
Step 2: Enable 2FA in CreativeBuzz
- Go to Settings → Security
- Find the "Two-Factor Authentication" section
- Click "Enable 2FA"
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app to verify
- Save your recovery codes in a secure location
Recovery Codes
When you enable 2FA, you'll receive recovery codes. These are backup codes that let you access your account if you lose your phone.
Important: Save Your Recovery Codes!
Store your recovery codes somewhere safe (like a password manager or secure document). Without these codes and your phone, you could be locked out of your account.
- Each recovery code can only be used once
- You can regenerate new codes if needed (invalidates old ones)
- Don't share your recovery codes with anyone
Signing In with 2FA
- Enter your email and password as normal
- Open your authenticator app
- Find the CreativeBuzz entry
- Enter the 6-digit code shown (codes change every 30 seconds)
- You're now signed in
Lost Your Phone?
If you've lost access to your authenticator app:
- Use one of your recovery codes to sign in
- Go to Settings → Security
- Disable 2FA temporarily
- Set up 2FA again with your new device
If you don't have recovery codes, contact support with proof of account ownership for assistance.
Disabling 2FA
We recommend keeping 2FA enabled, but if you need to disable it:
- Go to Settings → Security
- Click "Disable 2FA"
- Confirm with your current 2FA code or recovery code
Tip: Use Trusted Devices
On devices you use regularly, you may have the option to "remember this device" so you don't need to enter 2FA codes every time. Only use this on personal, secure devices.
